The sculptor MARCO DI PIAZZA (Rome 1961) created and installed the six works in the city over 27 years. All these sculptures were born from an authentic exchange with the place, the inhabitants and the ideas of the artist. From time to time they have interpreted themes that concern both the ancient and the modern San Gimignano, which has always related to a broad cross-section of humanity with no borders. You will see a single common thread both when looking at them from close, and in the reading offered by a text published by Effigi in 2023 and entitled: We of the streets. Marco Di Piazza, ideas and public sculpture by a Tuscan artist.

Der Bildhauer MARCO DI PIAZZA (Rom 1961) hat die sechs Werke über einen Zeitraum von 27 Jahren in der Stadt geschaffen und installiert, die aus einem authentischen Austausch mit dem Ort, den Bewohnern und der Idealität des Künstlers entstanden sind. Von Zeit zu Zeit haben sie Themen interpretiert, die sowohl das antike als auch das moderne San Gimignano betreffen, das sich immer auf eine breite und grenzenlose Menschheit bezogen hat. Ein roter Faden zieht sich durch sie, sowohl bei genauer Betrachtung als auch bei der Lektüre eines Textes, der 2023 von Effigi veröffentlicht wurde und den Titel trägt: Noi delle strade. Marco Di Piazza, Ideen und öffentliche Skulpturen eines toskanischen Künstlers.

Lo scultore MARCO DI PIAZZA (Roma 1961), ha realizzato e installato le sei opere in città nell’arco di 27 anni, nate da uno scambio autentico con il luogo, gli abitanti e l’idealità dell’artista. Di volta in volta hanno interpretato temi che riguardano sia l’antica che la moderna San Gimignano, che da sempre si relaziona con una umanità ampia e che non ha frontiere. Vi si scorgerà un unico filo conduttore sia nel guardarle da vicino, sia nella lettura offerta da un testo edito da Effigi nel 2023 e intitolato: Noi delle strade. Marco Di Piazza, idee e scultura pubblica di un artista toscano.
